[tweetmeme source= “brennels” only_single=false]So here are some tips for creating a blog content strategy. In my previous post, I realized there were two parts to this topic. There is the strategy you use for creating your blog and then there are different tactics used for creating content for the blog.
So a few things that need to be determine are the subjects you want to post, how often and who will be your content creators. Unless this is for a personal blog you will want more than one person creating content for posting. The most important thing to remember is posting on a regular basis. In order to retain readership you need to make sure your site doesn’t go stale with the same post sitting there for a month before the next post. You don’t have to post everyday like Seth Godin, but try to shoot for three days a week i.e. (M,W,F).
The next thing is keywords or tags. You might often hear people talk about SEO (search engine optimization) and what this means is optimizing your content you post. By including your targeting strategic keywords within your content you will have a better chance of ranking higher for those keyword searches. Don’t forget to categorize your topics so they are easily searchable. There are also many widgets included with the blog site that allow you to have the categories listed directly on the site so visitors can see your posted topics. The tags are usually specific to the blog post and title and you can see what tags used under the title of this post. This is also beneficial to the search engines. So to recap, the content is the most important part of any blog but don’t forget about the keywords, title tags, alt tags for images and frequency of posting your content.
