Tips for Integrating Multimedia in Marketing Programs

[tweetmeme source= “brennels” only_single=false]Everyone wants to create the latest YouTube phenomenon but that shouldn’t be your primary goal when planning for integration multimedia into your overall marketing programs. There are several benefits for adding video from SEO, educating customers and promoting marketing events.

By now you should have identified which multimedia sites you want to use and have a branded site for posting the videos. But what type of video should you create. Once again with most inbound marketing it depends on your audience and content. Creating educational technical white board product videos will appeal to many B2B customers and lets be honest no one wants to read anymore. This is the benefit of creating these type of videos because you can essentially read a white paper or diagram it on a white board and communicate more effectively to your target audience.

I have tested and seen amazing click through rates on video over text based advertising and or promotion. There is almost a 2-1 difference on the number of people who will engage in viewing a video than downloading a white paper. This is why integrating video into marketing you programs will help drive attendance and awareness for webinars, PPC and or customer events. Here’s a tip that worked well for me. If you are holding an event or webinar and plan to send out e-mail invitations to your contact database create a quick 15 second video of the speaker or host explaining what the event is and why it is of interest to them. This is a much more personal invitation that puts a face to the name and allows people to quickly understand what they are being invited to. You will receive 2 times more accepted attendees by simply adding video to your email campaigns.

And last don’t forget the SEO. Whenever you upload a video make sure it includes your targeted SEO keywords and an accurate description of the video. This will help search engines rank and index the video so it is easily found.
